Stepping Stones Project — Guiding Today's Youth on the Path to Adulthood

Stepping Stones Project is dedicated to creating meaningful rites of passage for youth as they transition from childhood towards adulthood.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Stepping Stones has been providing rites of passage support to youth since 1999. Our programs help adolescents and teens forge new connections to themselves, to their communities and to the environment.

Ongoing Programs

Our Coming of Age program is for middle school students crossing the threshold from childhood into adolescence. It offers them the experience of exploring relationships to themselves, to their community, and to the earth.

Events and Services

In addition to our ongoing programs, we have special events and can consult with you to create Rites of Passage for the youth of your community.

"The longing for initiation is universal, and for modern youth, it is crucial. Rooted in a fundamental need to grow, initiation proves one's entry into the world of men and women."
— Jack Kornfield, Stepping Stones Project Advisory Board
